Dedicated listening...
Our conversations will hold plenty of time to talk over how you are feeling. It is time dedicated to listening to what it’s like to be you, your struggles and what may be holding you back. Perhaps you have much of the same thoughts each day and wish you could feel different. We can gently explore all of this. Sometimes in life, people jump in with advice when we share how we feel. This is different. There is space and time to really look at the thoughts and feelings as they are.

Support that is impartial…
It can be very helpful indeed to be able to speak freely to someone (a coach) outside of our close personal circle of family and friends. Issues can be aired without having to consider thoughts and feelings of others or focus on maintaining the relationship. I take an impartial, non-judgemental stance and listen completely to your side of things; exactly how you see things and how you feel. Just being able to talk in this way and be listened to is therapeutic and freeing. Through a steady, flowing dialogue we can look at all issues. Our sessions will have a calm, reassuring, comfortable feel. We will build a rapport and the conversation will flow.
It's a conversation…
We will embark on a thought-provoking and creative process that can inspire you. My role is not to tell you what to do, or give advice or opinions, it is to partner with you, support and guide you as you discover your true wants and needs. In our initial talk we will talk over how you are feeling and what you are experiencing now, together with your first thoughts about how you would like to feel and do. In each session, you will raise the issues we talk about. You could think these over in advance or it could be spontaneous. This is not about being taken through a programme, following an agenda, or reaching milestones at specific times. It is all about caring for you and helping you, don’t worry if you aren’t sure what you want to say or about expressing yourself articulately.
Explore your values…
When we live lives that are not in sync with our values, we can feel drained because there is a continuous sense that something is lacking, or we are working against ourselves. Part of our conversations will involve discovering and exploring your true values so that you can begin to feel aligned and whole.
Empathy and encouragement…
You can be assured that my compassionate and encouraging approach helps your sessions to feel enjoyable; that you are taking positive steps for yourself. We will talk through areas of tension, discontent, difficulty in a space of non-judgement. There is no need to plan for sessions just come as you are and trust the process.
How to go forward…
We can fall into the trap of spending lots of energy on avoiding what we don’t want to happen and on dwelling on things that have happened. In our coaching conversations we can work through this, gain deep insights into what you really want and need. You can move forward to focusing on what you do want in the present and future and actionable steps you may wish to take to get there.
Openness and motivation...
Your own motivation will be the biggest driver in moving forward. Being open is important so that we can have honest conversations. Sometimes you will realise that you need to redraw the mental maps you have been living and this can feel challenging. If you want me to challenge your thinking and provide some accountability for action I can- we will discuss and agree this together. We can set goals that truly resonate with you, igniting a genuine sense of motivation so you truly want to act.
Relaxation and Mindfulness
Within our coaching process, if you would like to, we will make space in our sessions to include relaxation and guided meditation which creates an especially helpful environment for finding peace, clearing mental blocks, and imagining the future. You can enjoy feelings of comfort, increased connection to your body, and better sleep. We can practise calming and focusing your mind so you can do so at any time.
Emotional Freedom
If you choose to, we can use Emotional Freedom Technique to reduce feelings of stress and anxiety. Also known as ‘tapping’ this simple safe technique is based on the ancient wisdom of Chinese acupressure and modern psychology. You are completely in control, and it is tailored to your thoughts and feelings. It works by regulating your nervous system and shifting you into a rest and repair response (the opposite of the fight and flight response). It can bring release, relief, clarity, and confidence together with feelings of fulfilment and joy.
